Pact of the Shadowgrove

The Court of the Shadowgrove was at one time a minor seat of power amongst the Fae that inhabited the realm of Cairne prior to the Blight, and were trapped here when it came. Being what they are, mutable and connected to nature directly, they were changed by it, twisted and mutated. The Court still wields tremendous power and influence where they choose to, but within their schemes and plots are a strong desire to see a return to power of the ways of the green places and the creatures that once held dominion there. They are isolationists and their power tends to reflect this, keeping even the Ougham that reside nearby at bay despite their curiosity. 
The power granted by the Court is that of dominion of the mutated aspects of nature that now populate the world. The ability to shape, move, and manipulate the aspects of natural life to create and further the goals of their patron is the ability to commune with what nature has become after so many years of tainted conference with the powers of the Void. In return, the Artist is expected to dedicate themselves at the end of their arrangement, to the defense and aims of the Court and its hierarchy. The Artists that have completes their terms can still, on occasion be seen at the edge of the Shadowgrove, changed and barely recognizable, though those that are never seen again are rumored to have served a darker purpose.

Career

Qualifications

The Court is tempermental at best, and largely in part the creatures that make up its core despise all life that is not of their ilk. This hatred is bound in the fate of the fey creatures that make up the Courts ruling body, and the only the Artist that is willing to throw their lot in support of the aims of reclaiming the world from those that deemed to nearly destroy it are welcome there. There is no tenderness for the other humanoid races of the world beyond an apathetic view of the ones that remain neutral in their fault for the course of action that claimed the world.
