Blighted Aberration

"Those that fell to the shadows were forever denied entrance into paradise"

A Blighted Aberration is what is left should a Blight Born succeed in absorbing a living soul and no one dispose of the remains in time. They are a desiccated husk of their former self, a corpse filled by the same darkness that tooks its life and left to wander aimlessly seeking something it can never again have, life.

Basic Information

Anatomy

The absorption of life leaves the remains bare and emaciated, resembling not much more than a skeleton with skin stretched over its form. The eyes are gone and all that remains to identify who they may have once been is the hair and personal effects that are still hanging from the creature. In almost all cases, the jaw hangs loose and open and the withdrawn skin makes the nails and hair appear longer than normal, giving it an even more sinister appearance. The slightly distended belly belies the true danger of this creature, housing the remaining Void essence left behind by the creature that made it.

Ecology and Habitats

The Blighted Aberrations are entirely unintelligent and motivated only by the unnatural need to reassociate with the living in order to attempt to spread the Void to new hosts. Some observations have shown a degree of herd mentality, which could just be a mindless coincidence caused by numbers growing as they pass and them all being drawn to a new source of life, or it could be some more sinister part of the suspected hive mind of the Void possibility. They do not need to sleep or eat and will doggedly pursue a potential victim until their legs stop working. They are impervious to pain and relentless.

Additional Information

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

While these creatures are entirely blind, they are unnaturally drawn to the living, possessing the ability to detect the living for up to 150' as if by some innate sense. They will move to and attempt to infect any other living creature within this range and will not stop until they are entirely destroyed.
