Farnon the Speaker

Chancellor

Farnon Botellan is a meron statesman, merchant, writer, and current Chancellor of the Republic. He is a member of the Reformist Party, currently forming a minority government.

Early Life

Farnon was born in the city of Portala, into the House of Botellan. His father, Suero Botellan, was the Grand Master of the Silverdawn Guild, one of the 13 Great Guilds of Meron. From a young age he was tutored in writing, history and law, and became a member of his local Civil Assembly at 14. After becoming of age, Farnon served in the Meron Army from 179 to 184, achieving the rank of tribune, until being discharged, at which point he began working in his family's guild.

Political Career

After working with the Silverdawn Guild, Farnon returned to the Meron government, where he worked as a head of Assembly for a few years. During this time, he distinguished himself from his peers due to his natural charisma and oratory skills. He was appointed to the senate at 28, and quickly became renowned for his speeches.   Farnon was elected Chancellor in the year 211 after a comfortable victory over Lino Moles, from the Conservatives, and Velascan Cabral, of the Militarists. He succeeded the late Liborian the Greater, also a Reformist.
