Elves
Elves, incorrectly known as the Gentry or Fey Folk, are the most advanced descendants of the ancient Fey folk. They originate from the northern forests of Bruma, and are relatively isolated from other races.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Elves are among the most humanoid of the sentient fey races. Slightly shorter than humans, elves are generally slender and androgynous, with feline eyes and long, strong nails. They cannot die of old age, and stop aging somewhere between their late 20s and mid 30s. A few elves (often the oldest, but not necessarily) can grow horns.
Biological Traits
Though elves cannot die from old age, they are still susceptible to disease and other causes of death, and thus their life expectancy can vary wildly depending on region and time period. Wood Elves are known to be the elven race with the longest average lifespan (4,000 years), whilst Orcs are known to have the lowest (40 years).

Magic
Elves require food, like all other humanoids. However, the nutrients that are not turned into physical energy by their digestive system are turned into magical energy, which can be used for performing magic. Elves can train to increase the efficiency of this energy, as well as to keep it stored within them for long periods of time. However, an elf will eventually have to expel it, so as to avoid facing a surge of Wild Magic.
