Camille Marsche

Camille Marsche (6 February 1110 - 12 November 1184) was a Meron political scientist, economist, historian, journalist, philosopher and socialist revolutionary. Born in Katrien, Harland, Marsche's father immigrated to Merony during the reign of King Philippe XVI, when Camille was only 4 years old. Raised in a stable middle class environment, Marsche studied law and philosophy University of Merennes, where he quickly fell in with a group of student radicals, and began writing for the university paper, using inflammatory language that landed him in a police watchlist.   Marsche came of age at the outbreak of the National Revolution, and was involved in the storming of the Urban Palace. Unlike many of his fellow radicals however, he wasn't content with the development of Liberal philosophies and universal truths, which were becoming the dominant intellectual current at the time. Instead, Marsche joined the Populistes, who would go on to take power in 1131 and form the République Populaire. After Maximilien Garreau's coup, Marsche was forced to flee the country with his family, first to Laurena, then to Kova, and finally to Ardun, where he would live until his death. He would spend the next several years combining his practical experiences with extensive research on history and economics, writing several political treatises on the development of bourgeois capital in Merony. He also became involved in the Ardunan labour movement, where he would eventually become a political mentor to trade unionist George Snowden later in life.   In 1140, Marsche published his most famous work, The Syndicalist Manifesto, wherein he summarises his years of research into a single theoretical framework that examines history through a lens of Class Conflict. This work became massively influential within labour circles, and catapulted Marsche into notoriety as a socialist intellectual, and allowed him to play a leading role in the Gaeler Rising of 1180.   Despondent with the government crackdowns of the early '80s and the brutal supression of the Mulder Commune, Marsche committed suicide in 1186, leaving his magnum opus to be finished by Snowden from prison.
