The Potter Character in Caeteria | World Anvil

The Potter

Also known as ‘The Allesgott’ to the people of Praetergost, The Potter was the first of the Gods, and made the world for his children to live in. He is the father of all things, and has the power to both give life and to take it away. He is traditionally depicted as a kindly old man with a long beard and a balding head. The Potter tends to stay out of the affairs of mortals, and even the other gods, and his Augur can go decades without hearing even a whisper from him.

Divine Domains

Clerics of The Potter are most often associated with the Knowledge Domain, Life Domain, Order Domain, or Unity Domain.

Holy Books & Codes

The Potter is the main focus of The Book of Creation, the first of five holy texts known as the Pantheon Apocrypha, which serve as a central core for worship of The Pantheon.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

The Potter is often represented by the symbol of a clay amphora.

Tenets of Faith

The Potter is notoriously absent from religious goings on, but the few snippets His Augurs have managed to glean over the years show that He stands for maintaining the Status Quo, and is not a fan of rapid upheaval or change.

Holidays

The Potter has an entire season named after him, the first of the year, and is celebrated highly on Reformation Day, which pays homage to the creation of the Religion as it exists today.
