Elves, Giants, and Goblins

Metaphysical / Paranormal event

5500A

Hundreds of years after the last of the Dragons fled or fell, the new Races were created - the Elves, the Giants, and the Goblins. In addition, the first Races were given the creatures of the land and sea, to maintain the balance of the world and provide sustanence for the new inhabitants.

The Elves were the caretakers of the forests, growing and tending. The Giants were tasked with shaping the world and creating order from the chaos left in the wake on the dragons. The Goblins, originally said to be very similar to the elves in appearance, were give domain over the deep places - carving out their place in the Underdark. The creatures of land and sea provided food and labor for the new races, as well as completing the cylce of life and death that fueled the world.

The Elves

Elves were originally all of one, unified species living in the woods. Their long lifespans - hundreds of years, made them incredible foresters and they took pride in their work, cultivating the world's ecosphere. Over time, the Elves spread around the continent adapting to their environments. Sea Elves, Wood Elves, Mountain Elves, and Dark Elves are all descended from the same original Elves, though it's unsure what the original elves even looked like.

The Giants

The Giants lived in the Northern Reaches and shaped the world with their great tools. There are many types of giant: Fire, Frost, Storm, Cloud, Stone and Hill. Each was given a domain to shape.

The Goblins

The Goblins were the first species to navigate the Underdark, a series of large caverns and caves that extend across the enitre continent. The Goblins, originally very similiar to Elves in appearance, carved great cities out of the stone, delving deeper into the earth. There, the One Chained in the Dark corrupted their minds, driving them to greed and hunger, creating the goblinoids. It's said that in the deepest reaches of the Underdark, the Chained One created new life of it's own, dark and scheming.
