Personal history
Her parents defied the norms and married, even though her mother was Mbali and her father was an Aurelians. She is shunned by other Aurelians because of her skin is dark and because of her mother. She's not completely welcomed in the Mbali community either but she is more at home with them than anywhere else.
On top of this she can't travel because laws in effect heavily limit Mbali travel. This means she's only ever known Wolfden.
She has two children (twins) who died on The Hanging Tree. She doesn't know the history of this tree because it hasn't been used by the Aurelians since Maude in 1925.
