Underground

The Underground is a sprawling network of caves, believed to honeycomb much of Cadeia's crust. It was not spared by the structural damage caused by the Eskaton and the general ravages of time, and it is believed to be home to many secrets of the Lost Age.
Unfortunately, it is also home to a diverse assortment of threats.

Geography

It's a planet-wide series of cave systems, both naturally occurring and crafted.
Terrain is rocky, and water availability is dependent on the water table of the surrounding area - underground lakes and rivers exist, and are popular spots for the local fauna.   The mountains north of Vineshade contain the most well-known entrances to the Underground.

Fauna & Flora

There's not much in the way of flora that isn't just fungi. All manner of exotic of molds and mushrooms can be found in the Underground - indeed, practically every successful expedition that survives winds up discovering a new and unusual fungus.

Notable fungi include the Tower-Cap, an enormous, tree-like fungus with stiff flesh, that according to fragmentary Dwarf-lore, can be used as a wood substitute.

Another notable fungus is the Plump Helmet, a fast-growing, nutritious fungus that was supposedly a staple crop of the Lost-Age Mountainhome.

Underground Fauna is horrific. All manner of horrors and abominations lurk in its depths. The most common sapient species, most well known to surface-dwellers, is that of the Deep Orcs. Distant ancestors of the Khorazel, these Orcs have not learned how to coexist, and infrequently raid unprotected settlements on the surface. A sizeable portion of Mundus' military might is garrisoned to protect their Imperial holdings.
