Goldleaf

Goldleaf, shorten to 'leaves', was the main form of currency used in the Elven Empire. Leaves are comprised of a third of an ounce gold alloy cast into homewood leaves. The shape of the homewood leaf represents the sacred tree which is emblazoned on the imperial crest. This cast keeps them light enough for larger transfers and stable enough for stacking. Each leaf coin has the imperial crest stamped into it with date and location of mint determined by the leaf-like venation on the back of the coin.

Author's Notes

Goldleaf is a based off the French Livre which matches how it is phonetically pronounced. The elves adopt Frankish and French inspirations and their coinage matches the elves affinity for the Homewood Tree.
