Revenant
Revenants are a particular type of undead. While the term has been used interchangeable with "zombie", "ghost", or "vampire", this document describes the more as a mixture of the three. They are not natural beings, coming from a person who has come close to death (perhaps even died) with a magical reaction bringing them back to life, without a connection to a necromancer as a zombie would have.
Basic Information
Anatomy
A revenant can rise from many different species, though usually they are originally human.
Ecology and Habitats
Despite how people might consider them, a revenant can live peacefully alongside any group of people, as long as they choose not to feed upon any one person for very long.
Dietary Needs and Habits
They need to feed, like a vampire, but it is not to do with blood. It has to do with other people's emotions. Feeding on one's emotions is a life-drain, and can kill the victim. A new revenant might be unable to control this feeding, and will begin to display the emotion of the person they are feeding from.
Additional Information
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Revenants are close to the other side, more like a ghost than a zombie. Because of this, they do not age or sicken. They have become more impervious to damage. They can sense possibilities of the future, and can do minor possession, in the form of exerting their will over another's mind.
Revenants can hide in places with low levels of magic around, but if they are in a place teeming with such energy, they tend to attract the dead. Especially those considered ferriers and creatures who are omens of death.
