Cernan

Cernan is a purpose built science vessel, another specialty design by TB Dockworks. She has decent defensive protection and good offensive capabilities for a research vessel.

Power Generation

A minimal Beetle Power, Inc. Pulse Gray power core provides all the necessary energy for this small, armed exploratory vessel. Unlike other TB Dockworks designs, the Cernan is not equipped with the normal Abysium energy supplements.

Propulsion

Cernan incorporates light weight, small thrusters, although augmented by Horacalcum additions. An Moravian Motor Werks Signal Basic provides drift travel in basic form, allowing the scientific crew plenty of time to analyze data while travelling.

Weapons & Armament

For a science vessel, Cernan is relatively well armed with light particle beams in the port and starboard mounts, a chain cannon in the turret mount, and a light for ramming prow in the forward mount.

Armor and defense

As with many TB Dockworks designs, the Cernan has Tondorn Defense Systems' ablative armor but does not have any traditional armor befitting the lighter design for a science vessel. Some basic Compto Electrics shields and Horacalcum augmented targeting defenses round out the protection systems.

Communication Tools & Systems

A HiCray Mk 3 duonode computer is the central computer hardware on the Cernan. Software is especially custom from a small programming house that keeps it's secrets well. Only those who serve on Cernan learn about how this software systems works and remain under security non-disclosure even if their employment is ended for any reason.

Sensors

Basic short range sensors are supplied by Aquanel Energy. These sensors are heavily integrated with the HiCray and it's software especially for finding things that are more out of the ordinary.

Additional & auxiliary systems

The expansion bays are fully fitted for science and exploration including an arcane laboratory, medical bay, general science lab, and a sealed environment chamber.
