Svartalfheim

Often believed to be cursed, the history of Svartalfheim is a muddled one. With several differing origins, Svartalfheim has been through numerous changes in leadership, with conflicting evidence making a proper timeline difficult to determine. The Nation was created under either the Dwarves of "Niddavallir" during the "Blanked Exile" peroid in which they were forced out of Jotunheim, or the Vampire Clans that form "Blood Haven".   Svartalfheim differs greatly to it's neighbors to the south and East in terms of it's weather. Contrary to popular belief, the sun does shine over the domains of dread, but the deep, likely supernatural, overcast that plagues the skies with storms drowns out much of yggdrasil's influence. This darkness only worsens an already frigid section of Eitr, creating a rocky, tundra-like climate in many places where only the hardiest plants have a snowman's chance in hell at survival. Between the darkness, Natural Salt Deposits, and the heavy metals in the soil from shoddily maintained remnants of Niddavallir's underground, It's to little surprise that The Surface typcially suffers from poor crop yeild compared to the blessed lands down south or even the underdark's agricultural district where much of the nation's food supply hails from.   After the wrath of the Scultpor's Arm flooded the nation the hellish nation Eventually recieved a revitalization in secret one century ago. Helmed by Former Marine Admiral Uther Pendracul, A fleet was dispatched Northward under the guise of Setting up a temporary intelligence camp to survey on Jotunheim's more dangerous inventions, this would later be expanded upon into an ever increasing millitary base funded directly by the "Heretical Son" of the Aesir Council, funneling research into the Drassilian Lanterns replacements. Uther was eventually struck down by his own creations, his Three Children and the Gith would establish Camelot, which would later serve as the basis for modern day Svartalfheim even to this day.   Modern Day Svartalfheim continues to struggle foward in Camelot's shadow, while lacking an offical government, a recent offshoot guild descended from one of the knights of the round table has taken the task upon itself to rebuild society as the Knights of Noir Monde, picking up the pieces left by Arthur, Morgan, and Kay has lead to some notable success in the creation of a great numder of villages under the knights watchful eye, Additionally, the knights seem to have inherited the same vendetta against the acherontia and by extention, the Order of the Ash Lantern. Beyond Noir Monde, the surface is home to both subtypes of gith, several tribes of goliath dotted along the nation, Drow that keep toward the underground, and vampires hiding amongst the common man to escape the Wrath of the Reapers outreach division that have set up shop.   Surviving in domains of dread that is Svartalfheim is never assured, Death Lurks around many corners and worse things in those lacking, but it's through this unbearable hardship unlike anywhere else on the planet that has created some of the world's hardiest heroes.
