Midgard

The Kingdom of Midgard is synonomous with the Yggdrasil and his followers, The Order of the Ash Lantern. When the forces of Agartha rose from the cracks to lay waste to villages it was the from formation of a city millita manned by the church that a light of hope was created. This millitia, having narrowly conquered over death time and time again, found themselves cursed with life. Unable to join their loved ones beyond, these cursed few dedicated their existence to the defense of others becoming both the sword and shield of those that remained.
Nowadays the Order's vigilance has since expanded greatly, with members of the order working as Police, Millitary, Navy, and several government positions, a lanterns fire is never doused long. Those that live under the lanterns gaze sleep soundly with the piece of mind that their ancestors lacked. The Mageocracy of Midgard is built off the pride and confidence in their strentgh and belief that they have a duty to defend their fellow man, usually driving those to join or otherwise contribute to the midgardian empires expansion and influence.
Some of the world's most brilliant mages hail from or were educated in the mage universaties of Asgard's remains in Central Migdard. It's of little surprise that the country continues to put a greater emphasis on magic as the years go by, The Attrocity caused by the Talos still bears scars on the country that have made the nation hesitant to outright hostile towards the unpredicatable nature of technology.
To This day the Aesir Council still rules over Midgard to fufil Esperanto's Will. Save for the Seat of Divination being taken by the Grand Diviner's Will, the identities of the other seats have become shrouded in layers of mystery to prevent assassination attempts, despite this several high-ranking noble mages still claim and boast holding a seat on the council. The most notable Claim being the Current Head Admiral of the Navy, Gore Maynard.
