Helheim
The ugly step-sibling of the Northern court. Once known as the "City of Tears", the country was founded by survivors of various incursions that had lost their homes and were offered shelter by the (at the time) ascending Demi-God of Death, Mausoleum. Mausoleum and his family would later go on to be the king of these expanding lands, spreading his knowledge on the arts arcane and traditional to any who were looking for a second chance at life in these frigid lands.
A society that has adopted and revolutionized necromancy, helheim has a unique perspective on the dead, many people selling or donating their bodies for use after death as a labor force or military use. Local Governments and nobility typically take possession of the remains for labor, with strict laws regarding the respect and maintenance of the workforce while the Government deals with the military bodies.
The automation of menial labor (such as mining or construction) has allowed the living citizens of Helheim to pursue a more leisurely or artistic lifestyle, often taking or creating jobs involving creativity where the dead would be ill-suited another option is pursuing the study of Necromancy itself in the hopes of becoming certified as a state necromancer, granting the prosperous mages a great deal of funding, advanced materials and reasearch access that any mage would foam at the mouth for, provided they can tolerate the morbidity.
Most undead is used for farming in order to grow the crops needed to sustain the tundra country, sometimes even using their remains as fertilizer.
Undead military corpses usually come from deceased invaders and death row criminals, often looting the corpses from skirmishes with enemies to serve as a warning to their northern neighbors.
