The Sea

The water near shores tend to be mostly calm experiencing normal weather patterns and storms but venture to far from land and you reach the deep ocean. The deep ocean is an unbridled fury raging waves, whirlpools, sea monsters and roaring winds. It gets much worse at night when the moon can takes full control over the water. At night the ocean waves trash violently animated by magic, defying the laws of physics. Waves lift of from the ocean into the sky or sink down to the sea floor. This makes the ocean virtually impossible to navigate. The only ones that manages to cross are those who have immense luck and skill on there sides.
Besides being an obstacle to travel the oceans are also rife with pure unleashed magic that rages as violently as the waves itself, to the point where at times pure magic can be seen dancing above the waves. This proves an obstacle for spellcasters trying to cast spells that reach over the ocean. The waves of magic are all but guaranteed to claim any spell and in the worst case scenario pull the caster into the depts of the ocean allong with the spell.

To date Goldrock is the only known person that has managed to find a way to safely traverse the ocean. However upon ascending to godhood he sold this secret causing travel to be impossible once more.
