Sambi

The creator of Hell.

Sambi is the now dead god who created hell in service of Ophanim. He believed that in order for heaven to keep its pristine state, the souls of sinners must have a place to go, one where they could never harm heaven. To this end, Sambi cut off a great part of Abbadon and stole a portion of Axis to serve as a pillar of stability for the realm creating the Citadel of souls, drawing in the souls of sinners. He then forged a contract to bind all of hell and its denizens with the help of Tact, making any spawned from it unable to escape unless, and only for as long as, their services are needed by one outside of hell. Sambi added this clause in fear of a conflict between Heaven and the horseman of Abbadon where Heaven might require their aid. Sambi spend his time trying to control the devils of hell, who did everything in their power to abuse the contracts that governed their actions. This was until he was usurped by Zesta. It is a testament to his power that even after his death the magic binding hell remains firm. The only clause for its dissolution reading “This contract will be null and void the moment Muran the first god declares it”.
The cult of Sambi used to be one of accepting and dealing with the evil found in all of us. It was mostly for people who knew they had problems and evil within them but still wanted to try and live as good a life as they could, and for those who wanted to help people do just that. After the death of Sambi his cult clings on in House Mirbello who have adopted some of his teaching despite the god's absence. His place in most temples however has been lost.
