"The lighthouse at the edge of the world" - Dorfas, is an old place with a stubborn spirit. It clings to the past like a barnacle to a ship, with its Roman relics and fishermen's huts. But it is the gateway to Centware, and thus, a strategic point of interest for any who wish to invade.
A place of salt and stone, born of the very bones of the earth. By the River Dour, the villagers are hardworking, but they have grown complacent, thinking the walls of the castle atop the mighty white cliffs will always protect them. It is a place where the old world meets the new, where the echoes of Rome still resonate, but the whispers of change are growing louder.
The town itself is a bustling hub of activity, with merchants from across the sea bringing exotic goods and tales to market. It is a place of beginnings and endings, where travelers set forth for distant lands and warriors return to the embrace of their kin. The air is ever-tinged with the scent of the sea.
But it is not without its troubles. The proximity to the continent makes it a prime target for raiders and invaders. It is a delicate balance, maintaining peace with the Merovingians and the Frankish courts, whilst protecting the Kingdom.
It was Cyning Eadbald himself who established the priory in the town, a ward against perils to the soul, if not the lives of the people who live here.
