Arronax Endymion

Arronax Endymion is a disgraced former officer of the DeShattue navy who clawed his way back into relevance by seizing control of Hell’s Harbor. Equal parts tyrant, visionary, and tragic caricature, he rules from the cliffside fortress of Fort Virelay with theatrical precision and an iron will. His regime wraps brutal authoritarianism in gilded naval ceremony, transforming a decaying pirate haven into a facade of civility, military ritual, and public obedience.
Once exiled in disgrace, Arronax arrived around 695 CE with a fractured fleet and nothing to lose. Over two decades, he outdueled, outbribed, and outmaneuvered the pirate captains who ruled the port, consolidating power and declaring a rebirth under the self-authored Civic Maritime Charter. His court—composed of former pirates, military exiles, and social pretenders—exists to project legitimacy, but real control lies entirely with him.
