The world of Virthys died in the apocalypse brought by the dragon god Zathruax. The reborn world of Ashandri experienced shock and confusion.

Fire, earthquakes, land that is torn apart and flung into nothingness. The sky burning up and turning black. Screams, death and terror. The end of the world was different to everyone, but some things were similar for most people. It was terrifying, and deeply traumatizing, to see the world die. Few people expected to survive this.   A strong force suddenly grasped the fragments, pulling them out of their trajectory and towards other landmasses. Those who stood at the edges saw the other regions rushing towards them, until they smashed together, creating more earthquakes and waves of magic rushing over the land.   And then, something teared up reality itself, gargantuan chains shooting forth from some other dimension, engulfed in violet lightning, until they crushed into the new world-island's rocky bottom side. The next moment, another wave of magic flooded the land. A intangible purple torrent reaching from one tear in reality to the other, connecting the two gaping holes in the nothingness of space.   A moment later, the newly created world was transported to a strange new dimension. The sky was pitch black, showing only faraway stars, before a gargantuan crystal appeared out of nowhere, slowly flaring up. It took about an hour before the sky emerald resembled the old world's sun.   This was the beginning of the history of Ashandri.
