Meredith Tannis
Sister Meredith Tannis
Meredith Tannis is many things to the Wreathfolk: a healer, a neighbor, a protector, a friend, a rock during difficult times, a mastery of ceremonies [often sharing this duty with the mayor], and much more. Though still younger than the acting clerics of many other villages in the region, she has more than enough experience at the age of 40 to be an authority on many subjects and is frequently among the first people approached when a problem needs solving. As a result, she tends to read in the temple's library when she isn't occupied by her duties.
She is currently looking to take in an apprentice so that the village will remain in capable hands, but also because in ten years time she may consider retiring in good conscience.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
She is generally physically fit, if slowing down slightly through age. She keeps a youthful appearance, many mistake her for being up to a decade younger than she truly is, leading to speculation by many of the womenfolk in town.
Body Features
She is fair skinned with a pleasant complexion, not truly beautiful but also neither is she plain. Light brown hair approaching blonde is kept in a long braid as slight bangs cover her forehead approaching her eyebrows.
Facial Features
Her eyebrows are very expressive and she is known for arching them in jest hyperbolically. Additionally, she has dimples when she smiles.
Identifying Characteristics
She has two small dotted beauty marks on the left side of her face, one of which become obscured by her dimple when she smiles.
Physical quirks
She often stands at ease with a hand on her hip and one on her staff, if anything, this is the easiest way to identify her from afar. You know, besides the staff.
Special abilities
Possesses the abilities of a seasoned cleric.
Apparel & Accessories
She wears robes that reflect the colors of the seasons as per her association with the nature god Melandras.
Specialized Equipment
Carries a staff made of burnished red oak, adorned with a staff head resembling a tree. This tree buds, blooms, loses its leaves and starts the cycle over along with the corresponding season.

Duties marked * are shared with the mayoral office.
- Officiant/Master of Ceremonies*
- Healer
- Teacher
- Confessor
- Caretaker of Orphans
- Sanctifier the Graveyard
Morality & Philosophy
She has a great appreciation for life in all of its forms and also a great enjoyment of life in general. Meredith does not conform to the image most people have of dour clerics proselytizing or professing their beliefs, even if some do.
Personality Characteristics
Motivation
She is motivated by her own innate sense goodness, fairness, and empathy. The fact that many people cannot have a bare minimum to eat or a place to sleep is not lost to her, and she has a great deal of compassion for the downtrodden - but also for the innocent, especially children.
Savvies & Ineptitudes
She is incredibly well-read and rarely doesn't know, at the very least, the basics concerning a topic.
At times, she's a bit of a workaholic and goes beyond what is healthy when trying to help her charges. This can result in a few days of recovery from exhaustion generated in those moments of intense work.
Likes & Dislikes
Likes baked sweets.
Dislikes soup.
Virtues & Personality perks
She is among the most patient people in town, loves to laugh, and is well-liked.
Vices & Personality flaws
She can be quite stubborn and has a bad habit of being overbearing at times.
