Feywild

Lore The Feywild, also known as the Plane of Faerie, is a vibrant and magical "echo" of the Material Plane. It is the origin of the fey, teeming with life and beauty beyond mortal comprehension. The Feywild is a realm of potent magic, where natural laws are fluid, time behaves unpredictably, and every element of the environment pulses with arcane energy.   The landscape of the Feywild is marked by majestic forests, crystal-clear lakes, and towering mountains, all imbued with a sense of wonder. Every plant and animal within the realm is slightly exaggerated in beauty and danger, giving the entire plane a surreal and dreamlike quality. Mortals who venture into the Feywild often find it a place of both captivating enchantment and unforeseen peril.

Courts and Factions

The Feywild is governed by various courts, the most prominent being The Seelie Court and The Unseelie Court. These courts are often associated with the dichotomy of law versus chaos rather than a strict good versus evil alignment. While the Seelie and Unseelie courts are the most well-known, the Feywild is also home to several smaller courts such as The Summer Court, The Winter Court, The Spring Court, and The Autumn Court. Each court has its own territory, customs, and influence on the environment around them.

Magic and Influence

Magic flows through the Feywild in a raw, untamed state, affecting everything within the plane. This magic enhances the colors of flowers, the scent of the air, and the very essence of the inhabitants. Spells cast in the Feywild are more powerful and often behave unpredictably, making it a place of both opportunity and danger for spellcasters.   The plane's influence extends beyond its boundaries, affecting regions in the Material Plane that are particularly close to it. In places where the Feywild's energy seeps through, the environment may exhibit magical phenomena such as sudden growth of dense forests, shifting landscapes, or time passing differently than in the world around it.

Travel and Dangers

Traveling through the Feywild is a hazardous endeavor. Pathways and landmarks can change without warning, and time can flow differently, causing travelers to emerge days, months, or even years after they entered. The creatures that dwell here range from the whimsical to the deadly, and not all are welcoming to visitors. The Feywild is a realm where deals and bargains carry great weight, often binding mortals in ways they do not fully understand.   While many enter the Feywild seeking its beauty, wisdom, or magical secrets, they must be wary of its capricious nature. The fey who dwell here are known for their cunning and delight in games, often at the expense of those who do not heed their warnings or fail to grasp the fey's complex rules.

Faerie Courts' Influence

The courts of the Feywild, particularly the Seelie and Unseelie, wield significant influence over the plane's magic and politics. Though they are frequently at odds with each other, they share a common interest in preserving the realm and its secrets. The smaller courts, such as the Summer, Winter, Spring, and Autumn Courts, each have their own territories and play distinct roles in maintaining the Feywild's balance.
