The boy and the riffin

There was a boy in a small village far in the plains. He had a riffin as a pet, and this riffin was a good little pet. He would warn the boy and the village when dangerous huntsbeasts approached the village.   But the boy was mean to his little riffin. He would hit him with a stick when the riffin was asleep. He'd hit him and shout "Bad riffin! Bad riffin!". And the riffin, who did not know why he was a bad riffin in the eyes of his little master, was hurt a lot. And everyday he would cry from the stick. And yet everyday he watched over to warn if the predators approached. And the kid would still hit him. The little riffin was so sad.   One day, the little riffin was crying near the house. His little master had hit him once again, for no reason. A heerus came close to him and asked politely:   -"Oh my, little riffin, why are you crying like that?   -It's because my little master hits me", said the riffin, "he hits me everyday saying that I am a bad riffin!"   The heerus was puzzled.   -"And are you a bad riffin? Have you been naughty?" he asked to the little animal.   -"No, I'm not naughty! I try to protect him from predators, and I always lookout for the village, every night!" he answered while sobbing   -"Then, he is mean to you for no reason! That's unfair!   -Yes, but what can I do? He's bad with me and I'm so miserable! I want to run away.   -I have a better idea" said the heerus after a minute of silence, "Why don't you get rid of him?   -How could I do that? He has a stick to hit me and i'm too small and weak!   -it's simple! Next time, when you see huntsbeasts coming, you don't tell him! You can warn the village, and us heeruses, but not a word to him! It will serve him right when they'll eat him you'll see!   So the little riffin, reassured by his big friend, went back to the boy's village. One night, the riffin spotted a huntsbeast coming. He went to warn the whole village as usual, but this time, he didn't stop for his master. He didn't warn the little boy. And so, Yum! The boy ended up in the huntsbeast's belly, and the little riffin was finally free from this bad, mean master.
