Waterglide Seal

Description: The Waterglide Seal is a Ships Wheel with a deep blue crystalline "X" emerging from it's core, the wheel has also been mounted on a dark brown wooden oval. The "X" has splintered out from within the wheel and looks like it is made of Maizina as it gives off a deep blue glow.   The wheel itself looks like a beaten ships wheel and can be freely turned either direction.   The back of the oval on which the wheel is mounted is covered in deep-blue crystalline splinters that can be recognised as being Lupoan writing.   Stats: The Waterglide Seal initially doesn't do anything but gives off a strong air of magic and fills wherever it is with the faint smell of fish and sea.   The Waterglide Seal must first be adhered to a Vehicle or Object of size category Large or smaller. This can be done by holding the Seal up to a wall or surface on this object for 10 minutes after which it will activate forming wooden suckers on the back of the seal causing it to stick on it's own.   Once stuck onto a Vehicle or Object it can be activated by turning the Wheel Left or Right, moving the Wheel to the centre removes any effect the seal will have:   Turning the Wheel Right: Doing this causes whatever the Seal is attached to to become buoyant in water no matter what material are part of its construction. In addition if used whilst on land the Object or Vehicle is immune to difficult terrain effects caused by non-magical water but may increase the DC of controlling the Object due to lack of friction if applicable.   The Waterglide seal doesn't provide any additional movement speed or resistance to being capsized or dragged below the water whilst in this state, but as the item is buoyant it may bob back up to the surface under the previous effect.   Turning the Wheel Left: Doing this causes whatever the Seal is attached to immediately sink below water regardless of what material are part of its construction. In this state the object will treat any significantly watery terrain as being difficult terrain.   These effects remain until the Waterglide Seal is either turned back to being centered, or if the Waterglide Seal is removed from the object or destroyed.   Removing the Seal takes 10 minutes of effort or it can be knocked off by striking it (AC10 HP:15) although doing so risks destroying the Seal (Roll a d20, on a roll of 1 the Seal is destroyed).

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The magic interweaving the seal doesn't easily fit into any single category, equal amounts abjuration, transmutation, and another strange school as well.

History

This was found behind the fog at the base of the Sodden Palm along with a few of the Palm's other treasures.

Significance

Think of what this could do in the wrong hands.

Rarity
Rare- The Waterglide Seal doesn't hold a standard enchantment and as a result would be incredibly hard to recreate in the same way. Talented Mages and Wizards might be able to make something that would make a ship float better, but nothing that could be transferred from one object to another.
