Ring of the Sandskimmer
Description:
The Ring of Sandskimmer (RoS) is a single enchanted Tiger's Eye stone that was found by the party amidst the loot in the bottom of the Buried Palm behind the magical wall.
The RoS is a single small spherical Tiger's Eye stone that looks almost like a marble, but once placed on a finger it produces a ring made of sand that wraps and attaches itself to the digit. This sand ebbs and flows gently around the finger and feels perfectly smooth.
Stats:
The Ring of the Sandskimmer grants the following abilities when worn:
You leave no footprints behind you when you walk in the sand, you treat all nonmagical difficult terrain in sand as if it were normal terrain, and whilst in a sandy desert you feel no ill effects of high temperature or sun exposure and do not need to drink additional water.
Mechanics & Inner Workings
The actual core of the item is the Tiger's Eye stone that has been heavily enchanted to bond with the wearer and stick to them using the ring of sand.
This enchantment spreads to the rest of the wearer and changes how they impact on sandy terrain, making it firmer when stood upon but also preventing the wearer from leaving a trail.
Manufacturing process
It is unknown how this ring was made but due to it's close connection to nature it is likely to involve Druids and their mysterious rituals.
