Prospecting Compass
Description:
The Compass looks fairly normal, with it's external case being made of slightly battered and dented iron with a hoop for hanging from and the interior looking remarkably similar with the actual compass being held behind dusty and smudged glass.
The only aspect of this entire item that would hint towards any greater functionality would be the needle which is tinged with gold and rarely ever points north.
Stats:
Whilst using this Compass you can take an action to name a type of metal or stone after which for the next minute the compass' needle will point in the direction of the nearest source of that material.
The compass will only point towards either naturally occuring or unrefined materials, e.g. if asked for "Gold" it will point towards ore in the ground or being transported but it won't point towards gold coins, or if it's asked for "Iron" it will point towards ore but not swords or armour.
Once used in this way it cannot be used again for another hour.
Mechanics & Inner Workings
A small Divination enchantment has been placed on the Compass needle to allow it to seek out and point towards specific materials.
History
The first time that the party encountered this item it was looted from a Derringer Company wagon that the party had just finished taking out.
Asur then took charge of it and started to use it occasionally to find sources of Maizina.
Significance
Not particularly significant but was found with a shit ton of raw Maizina that the Derringer company had "Somehow" found. They didn't look like they were carrying any mining equipment...

Raw materials & Components
The Compass is primarily made from low-cost Iron, probably to keep the costs of production down. The only part of the compass not made from this would be the needle which looks to have been made from some kind of Gold alloy.
Tools
Anyone with even a moderate amount of ability at metalworking and forgemastering would be able to make the consituent parts, maybe it would be more difficult to work the needle due to the gold alloying.
To make it actually function as a Prospecting Compass you would require some ability to enchant using Arcane magic.
