Ornament of the Veil
Description:
The Ornament itself is a Brooch with a pin on the back for easy attaching. The main body of the brooch is made of a smokey gem that could fit inside of Sylviel's palm and is partially translucent. The interior of the gem stirs and moves when looked at, and if looked at closely you can see numerous fine grey silvery threads moving like a wave.
The gem is set in a delicate looking frame made of lightweight and organic feeling black material. From a distance it looks like a simple design of interweaving strands but upon closer inspection you can make out that the interlocking strands of material also form innumerable tiny moths within the pattern.
Stats:
Whilst attuned to the Ornament of the Veil the user gains the following properties (Must be attuned to a Cleric or Paladin):
Veil Walker:
As an action you can channel the Ornament's power to entangle yourself within the Veil between Life and Death. For the next minute you enter a Meditative Trance and the following effects occur.
When a friendly creature within 40ft of you is making Death Saving Throws you can choose for them to not to fall prone and instead gain a walking speed of 10ft and Tremorsense of 10ft. These effects are negated once they are no longer making Death Saving Throws or if the Trance ends.
You can select any two willing creatures (Including yourself) that are within 50ft of you and are visible during your Trance and, as an Action, trade their places within the Veil. Doing so causes these individuals to swap their current Hit Points.
However, no actual healing occurs as a result of this, and as such all Conditions and Death Saving throws are not swapped. Any Hit Points that would cause one of these individuals to go over their current HP Maximum are also lost. Doing this ends the Meditative Trance.
Dream Speaker:
Whilst sleeping, trancing, or meditating during a rest the user can cast the spell "Dream" as a Cleric or Paladin spell and without needing material components. Once you use this property, you can't use it again until the following day.
Using the spell in this manner does not prevent your character from gaining the benefit of the rest.
History
The Ornament of the Veil used to be an Amulet of the Devoted that was found in the Buried Palm inside a hidden site of worship to an unfamiliar god. It was then used as a compass within Sylviel's Alms box that lead her back to Todesloch and to the fight against Peyoli/Mercury.
Upon defeating Peyoli/Mercury the Amulet was gone, and in it's place within the Alms box was the Ornament.
Significance
An Artifact "Handed" or "Rewarded" to Sylviel after dealing with Peyoli.
