Little Claw

Description: Little Claw is a spear given to the party by Ladal Davorin upon helping him and his partner Dolrem return to the town of Ganvaren and get him accepted into the Dwarvish traditionalist community by changing their attitude towards outsiders.
Little Claw is mosty made out of a light green wooden Pole of Collapsing that constantly eminates a light scent of fresh grass and has delicate filligrees of flowers and vines carved along it's shaft. At one end the Little Claw has it's namesake, a yellow and slightly curved metal blade fixed on the end of the pole.
Aside from the enchantment of the Pole of Collapsing the main benefit gained from using Little Claw is it's lightness which allows it to be easily transported and wielded in combat.
Stats: Little Claw has the following properties:
+1 Weapon but not magical damage
While holding Little Claw, you can use an action to speak a command word and cause it to collapse into a 1-foot-long rod, for ease of storage. Little Claw's weight doesn't change. You can use an action to speak a different command word and cause it to revert to it's spear form to a 5ft spear form; however, the Little Claw will elongate only as far as the surrounding space allows.
In addition to this Little Claw can be used as a "Spear" as described in the Weapons section of the PHB, but with the additional "Finesse" property which allows a Dex modifier to be used for Attack and Damage rolls.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The subtle enchantments of the Pole of Collapsing allow it to gradually shrink as it's compressed allowing it to be easily moved around.
The enchantments used to do this feel slightly amateur suggesting that maybe a fellow bard or non-wizard is responsible for making the original Pole of Collapsing.

Manufacturing process

To make this it is likely that Ladal just got a friend to attach the blade end of Little Claw to the end of a Pole of Collapsing.

History

The weapon of choice for Ladal Davorin the young Halfling Bard that met, and eventually fell in love with, Dolrem Nothgate.
Little Claw itself was a good fit for the tiny musician as it's lightweight, easy to handle, and compresses well for travel.
It was used by Ladal up until he left his travelling ways due to the parties interception of the children of Ganvaren and their aid in getting Ladal accepted into the Dwarvish community and he gave up his travelling ways, handing it over as a sign of his thanks.

Significance

By handing Little Claw over to the party Ladal made it clear that his travelling days are over and he was ready to spend his time with his love Dolrem.
