Cloak of the Hidden Forest
Description:
The Cloak of the Hidden Forest (CotHF) was found by the party on the mummified corpse of the Cat-folk known as "Wish-Catcher" as the roots coming out of the claok were propping his corpse up as the Magical Wall was maintained before being picked up by the party.
The CotHF is a dark green cloak made of rough plant fibres with a hood and large brown and white feathers interwoven both into the shoulders and the interior of the hood. The interior of the cloak is coated with a layer of enchanted soil that is about 1 inch thick if poked through that sticks to the fabric of the cloak and doesn't transfer or crumble away when scraped or shook.
When worn the dirt surrounds the wearer in an insulating layer that feels surprisingly comfortable, like a thick blanket, that doesn't cause the wearer to become dirty. The wearer also feels the occasional movement of roots across themselves whilst the robes are closed.
The cloak itself smells faintly like a grasslands plain until it becomes wet at which point it smells aggressively like a forest after rain.
Stats:
When attuned to and wearing the cloak provide the following benefits:
You can withstand temperatures as low as -50 degrees Celsius.
The cloak has 5 charges and regains 1d4+1 expended charges daily at dawn.
While wearing the cloak you can use an action to expend 1 of its charges and unfurl the robe. The robe opens and produces two large torrents of roots before crashing down in a line 15ft wide and 10ft long in front of you, forcing any Medium or smaller creature within the area to make a DC13 Strength Saving Throw. On a failure, a creature is pushed 10ft away from you.
At the same time, you are flung away, flying 10ft backwards without provoking opportunity attacks.
Mechanics & Inner Workings
At it's base the Cloak of the Hidden Forest is just a normal cloak that has been innundated with a variety of enchantments that can aid the wearer, both in combat when making a hasty retreat or assault, or in simply wandering.
The enchantments are likely interwoven both into the fibres of the cloak itself and the feathers on the shoulders.
Manufacturing process
It is not known how this garment was created.
History
The Cloak of the Hidden Forest was first seen being worn by the Cat-folk known as Wish-Catcher in his ghostly illusory form surrounding the fight against the Dracohydra and then on his now mummified corpse at the bottom of the Buried Palm.
It is unknown if he was responsible for it's creation but it seemed to be a garment he was loathe to be without.
