Bitter Fang

Description: Bitter Fang, forged from the remains of a Blood Sabre, the cursed item known as the "Azimuthite Fragment", as well as a broken Vampire Fang along with other elements were combined in Hiram the Dwarven Forge to create this weapon. What was supposed to be a simple reforging took on new life with the confluence of strange powers that surrounded these items.   During this forging process Cassius, through the items placed inside the forge and his own renewed Oath contacted greater powers connected to these items. A decision was brought to him, a conflict between the shadows and Ravens of the Blood Sabre, which had previously belonged to an Undead who verbally allied themselves with the Raven Queen, and the dark waters of the Deep as brought out by the Azimuthite Fragment.   Seeing two visions of the sword in front of him Cassius chose, knowingly or not, to bring his oath to bare with the forces of the Depths of Gishil rather than the Raven Queen and once removed from it's quenching with the blood of an Unseelie Lord the blade emerged, changed.   The handle of Bitter Fang is made of a cold black metal that glints with fragments of dark blue Chardalyn, it is banded with a smooth organic material of a dark turqoise. The crossguard is made of the same dark material underneath but the bands of scales climb from the handle over the dark metal and towards the edges of the crossguard before reaching the ends at which point they turn into the image of a great toothed fish with one large eye in the centre of their head, mouth open and many rows of sharp teeth inside. The pommel of the blade is formed in the shape of one of these teeth as well. Both the eyes of the shark-esque creatures and the pommel are all formed of pure Maizina of the deepest darkest blue.   Bitter Fang's blade is of unique construction, ever so slightly curved and forked at the ends it resembles the Vampire fang used in it's creation. It's edge is sharp and made of bone giving a dark blue glint when light reaches it. The body of the blade retains the dark red of the blood sabre but now the colour seems to churn like a viscous sea. The entire blade is always covered in a thin layer of ice that will make your tongue stick if you lick it (tastes like iron).         Attunement Quest: The Wielder must have sworn fealty to Gishil and the mysterious forces that emanate from this Plane.     Statistics: Bitter Fang is at its base, a Longsword, however once attuned it gains the following additional qualities:   The Depths Cut Deep: The wielder has a +1 to all Attack and Damage Rolls with this weapon and deals 1d6 extra Cold damage on a hit.   The wielder can both speak and write Deep Speech.     Inordinate Exsanguination: Once per turn a creature slain with this blade may fully exsanguinate, spreading their blood in a pool around their corpse in a radius depending on the size category of the creature.   Tiny: None Small: 5ft Medium: 10ft Large: 20ft Huge: 60ft Gargantuan: 120ft   Dark and Stormy: While holding Murk Blade the wielder may use an Action to plunge the blade into a body of water, or blood, causing its surface to freeze over.   The water freezes to a depth of 3 inches within a 60ft radius of the point you plunged the blade.   Creatures who are partially or fully submerged in the liquid on the surface of the liquid must succeed on a DC15 Dexterity Saving Throw or be Restrained by the Ice. A Restrained creature can use an Action to make a DC15 Strength (Athletics) Check, breaking free on a success. The ice is magical, but melts after 1 minute if temperatures in this area are not cold enough to sustain it.   The Place Between Places: As an action the wielder can draw the sigil of Gishil on any frozen liquid surface and then enter a Demiplane on the reverse side of the surface. This Demiplane is filled with water that is breathable for all creatures.    If the frozen surface used to move across this is broken, shattered, melted, or evaporated then anyone held inside is shunted out to the nearest space on the initial plane and takes 2d10 Force damage.   A Blade's Council: Bitter Fang is now sentient and has the following scores: Intelligence: 16 (+3) Wisdom: 12 (+1) Charisma: 6 (-3)   Bitter Fang has taken upon itself to aid it's wielder in two facets, the first is the fulfillment of their oath, and the second is in aiding the as-of-this-moment mysterious goals of it's masters in Gishil.   Taciturn and reserved, the blade will seldom reveal more than is needed through psychic communication with it's owner. It's speech is strange, fragmented and often brings together multiple disparate meanings in words that is only really possible through psychic communication. Nonetheless it remains steadfast in serving it's owner.
