Acid Ammunition

Description: At the end of this ammunition is a pointed glass bulb filled with a quite vicious acid brewed by an Alchemist. That's why it's important to handle this ammunition with care, unless you like having holes in your gear.   This is also the reason why it is far more common to find Arrows that use this rather than bolts. The drawstring can have a nasty habit of shattering the bulb before being fired.   Effect(s): When attacking with a weapon that uses this ammunition on hit you deal 1d4 Acid damage on top of the usual damage. This acid deals max damage to organic objects (not people).

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The glass bulb shatters upon impact and spreads the acid across the target whilst the end of the bulb delivers the full force into the target.

Manufacturing process

Brewing the Acid from reagents, heating sand to glass to make and shape the bulb, and then bonding the bulb (with the acid inside) to the ammunition.

History

Whilst it has no real history, this kind of object is often associated with bandits and other criminals who occasionally use it as an easy lockpick when they don't have the skill to get past smaller locks.

Significance

Arrows that can deal extra damage to objects and structures can come in handy sometimes. You don't need a cannon to take out the hinge holding a chandelier.
Rarity
Uncommon: This idea's been around for a while but is often considered too expensive for mass use due to cost of glass and acid, as well as the expertise required to have someone create the ammunition in the first place.
