King Icarindion is assassinated, Icarex succeeds him as King of Tailaphon

King Icarindion had been overseeing significant losses in Tailaphon's existential war on two fronts: The Yuan-Ti and the monsters of Forsook. Many in the kingdom were terrified that the country would soon fall to one enemy or the other, and they blamed King Icarindion's incompetence above all else. For that reason, most were willing to look the other way when King Icarindion became ill and rapidly deteriorated in a way that looked very much like he had been poisoned. It was whispered that his son, Icarex, and Icarex's close advisor and lover, Sotirasivi, had orchestrated the plot. But even those who suspected this to be the case had little to say in protest as the new king began immediately turning the tide of the war.
