The Ternion (Ter-nee-yon)
The Ternion is the main religion in Karji. Its tenants promote hard work, conspicuous consumption, and indulgent leisure. The Ternion is based on three gods: Haiyett, whose domain is liveliness and joy, and Sels, whose domain is industry and hard labor. Sitting above those two bases of the triangle is Ahtikar, the god of order and death.
Like most of Karji, the church views magic as taboo.
The symbol of the church is a three-sided pyramid.
The priests are called Managers. Most priests are agents of Haiyett and Sels. They are the most visible. Their job is to continue the natural balance between work and play. They also are encouraged to sell things as well in order to make a profit personally and for the church. It is much more difficult to become a priest of Ahtikar. They are fewer, less visible, and hold far more power. These priests meet in private, where they train and practice their actual mystic powers, the secrets of which they guard very closely.
The head of the church is called the Allocator. The current Allocator is a woman named Lavinia Spaulding.
There are rumors that there was once a fourth god in the pantheon.
