Genetically and cybernetically enhanced talking cat owned by Ulla Amano. He has visible implants in his ears and paws, but also invisible ones in his mouth and a health monitor.

Thanks to the enhancements, he has human-level intellect, increased life-span, and is able to move around the ships in zero-g.

While the animals in the original project died rather quickly, Salem has already exceeded the expected lifespan of 1-2 years and is currently 6 years old and showing no signs of deterioration.
