Corpse Bee
Though slow to anger, these insects are true masters of the Hexcraft art. I would advise against raiding their hives, Vampire.
The corpse bee is the largest pollinating insect in the entire Land of the Dead, and can be found in almost any location despite the fact that the flowers they pollinate are actually quite rare. Adult corpse bees are as large as a fist and covered in a coat of long, fluffy, fur-like hairs. Their bodies are covered in stripes of deep black and rich amber colours, and usually have a skull-like pattern on their large, bulbous abdomen that seems to be common to bees of a particular hive. Corpse bees prefer to build their hives within the ribcages of the corpses of large, long dead beasts. While they are stingless and slow to anger, corpse bees are extremely dangerous once provoked as they are the true masters of the art of Hexcraft. As an insect, they are able to perform all six gestures of a Hex virtually instantaneously, and a disturbed hive of thousands of Hex throwing bees bearing down on a Soul is a truly terrifying to witness. Despite the dangers, some brave or otherwise foolhardy Souls do attempt to raid corpse bee hives in an attempt to acquire Hexcomb from them.
Hexcrafters
Corpse bees are the true masters of Hex magic, and are able to perform forty six thousand, six hundred, and fifty six distinct unique Hexes. These Hexes have been studied extensively, and the majority of these Hexes appear to used for communicating information to other corpse bees, or for aiding their ability to navigate through the Land of the Dead. For example, one particular Hex has been observed to create a bubble of air around the bee, allowing them to fly through the inky waters of the Styx. Many Hexes are used for defence of the hive, a large number of which are brutally effective in driving away or outright killing perceived threats.
The vast majority of the Hexes that corpse bees can perform require six limbs moving in unison to perform successfully. Out of the forty six thousand, six hundred, and fifty six Hexes, only thirty six are possible to perform for a Soul with two arms.
Through Hexcraft, corpse bees produce a special wax comb known as Hexcomb. It functions the same way as a normal honeycomb, its hexagonal cells filled with sickly sweet honey and rich royal jelly. Hexcomb has mystical properties that make it attractive for use in various applications, and is jealously guarded by the bees against any who would raid their hives.
