Slipgate Coordinator

Still only known to a very select few, and nearly impossible to operate, let alone recreate, these complicated terminals can control and even redirect the destinations of the slipgates. Most of the ones that have been found remain in good working order if in need of cleaning just to see the displays. While the original creators are currently unknown, or only known to the Alvar, none other than the Alvar technomancers understand the Coordinators well enough to operate them with certainty. While anyone with sufficient skill in navigation may be able to interpret the display and puzzle out what a slipgate's destination may be, only the reckless would attempt to make changes. Noone that has entered a slipgate after such an alteration has ever returned. The few times scrying was successful to determine what had happened revealed a very unfortunate aftermath. The travelers were either fused into their destination, limbs protruding from solid rock, or literally, their bodies were inside out.   There is also a great deal of controversy concerning the nature of what is displayed on the Coordinators. In cultures that do not know about other planets, or have religious egocentric beliefs, they have been decried as heresy. The Coordinators clearly show the system of Bloheron from the central star to the smallest moon. Those unfortunate enough to be the attendant to an Alvar technomancer have also said there are other possible destinations far outside Bloheron. In fact, every time a new Coordinator was found, a technomancer was sent to investigate it and ensure that all slipgates it was linked with did not permit use as a receiver of a transmission outside Bloheron. The skilled manipulation of Coordinators was one of the ways that the population of Bloheron was shunted to Ruathawaul before the Skyfall event. It was also instrumental in preventing the Odemark conflict from spreading to the less technologically advanced planets of the system.
