Icon of the Great Serpent

Forged in the depths of the Serpent's Throne, the Sword of Everlasting Hunger is a symbol of devotion to the Aeunta Asar Sinma and his tenets of predation. Only the strongest and most loyal followers of the Great Serpent are worthy of wielding the wretched sword. Appearing as a black longsword with a red gem on the pommel and fang-like protrusions on the hilt, the blade is instantly recognizable as an artifact of Asar Sinma. The demonic sword has been the last sight of countless victims found unworthy of existence by the Great Serpent's fanatics.

Origins

Sword was forged by an ambitious Qurserta named Kar'Murinus, who lived at the bottom of society. He wished to overthrow his High Lord and claim the title for himself. When he had finally finished his wretched creation, he waged his war against the High Lord's Ascendants and Regent until all that stood in his way was the High Lord himself. Kar'Murinus and the High Lord Ras'Polylepis battled at the summit of the High Lord's domain under the watchful gaze of the Asar Sinma. Ultimately, Kar'Murinus would fell the old Qurserta and become the new High Lord, blessed by the great serpent himself.   Kar'Murinus would rule as High Lord until he too was supplanted by one of his underlings. His wretched black blade would be passed around each High Lord until it was stolen by a Varaki named Nirrax. When the High Lord was distracted, Nirrax stealthfully killed them and pillaged the greatsword from their body, and brought it with her back to Marasstrix.   The sword would stay within Nirrax's possession until a crazed devotee of Asar Sinma on a crusade to prove his loyalty to the Great Serpent killed Nirrax and reclaimed the blade. With his dedication proven, the sword found a new purpose; to become a symbol of power and authority among his most devout followers. Strict adherents to Asar Sinma's tenets are not given the weapon by the Aeunta himself. Instead, as a predator should, they must kill and claim the sword from its current wielder, proving themselves to be more worthy of existence.

Abilities

The Sword of Everlasting Hunger was forged with an enchantment that imbued Entropic energy into the blade. When Kar'Murinus first wielded the blade, it was essentially powerless, for the sword was secretly blessed by Asar Sinma himself to grow stronger with every kill. The Entropic energy imbued within the blade becomes far stronger with every foe felled until the energy begins to change the wielder. Those who've wielded the sword at its full strength become intuned with the energy within the weapon and can unleash its power themselves. They also experience physical changes as scales grow across their bodies, their skin turns into a deathly gray color, and Entropic energy begins flowing through their body. Those changed by the sword are powerful and dangerous individuals hellbent on ridding the world of all lesser life.
