Miston

Miston is a busy port city of the Kingdom of Veritria. Situated on the coast of the Ardell Ocean and the Goud Strait, many ships dock here bringing with them trade and goods that is then transported throughout the kingdom. Due to the city’s coastal location a vast amount of mist tends to roll over the city most mornings. This can cause sailing to be somewhat hazardous before midday. A local lighthouse helps with this, shining its light twenty four hours a day.
Originally an ancient Elven city called Illmyth, the settlement was fought over during the The Great Crusade, with the human kingdoms finally taking control near the end of the war. It changed its name to Mist Town, before it was finally shortened to Miston several centuries ago and grew into a bustling city.
The city also has a castle built on the edge of one of the cliffs, making it a focal point for the city as a whole. Here is where the current Duke, HRH the 24th Duke of Miston resides, helping to rule over the southern part of the Kingdom of Veritria.
