Prophetic Murals

Prophets and Prophecies are no strange oddity to the World. Ages of high numbers of them, low numbers of them, numbers in between, and times of none have all been recorded by the dedicated. Never the less, when one starts a prophecy people pay attention, and record, then spread it around. Many forms of literature, art, and craft have dedicated specialists to study the prophecies, including scientific fields devoted to their curation, study, and announcing fulfillment. The unicorns do not care for this behavior, and so do not participate, claiming they prefer their prophecies handed down orally. Most think it is because their hooves are not well suited to making things.   Dragons, on the other hand, absolutely revel in the arts and sciences. Craft and Study are staples of their cultures, and they revel in all aspects of such. Murals of extremely intricate detail are a favorite pastime, like creating a puzzle that was never whole before it was complete. Due to their exceptional life spans, it is considered odd to find a dragon who is not at the very least working on a mural. There are competitions amongst the more enthusiastic dragons to see who can create an elaborately detailed mural of prophecy before the prophecies fruition. The categories are as numbered as there are prophecies about. They keep the prophecy of the Black Snow in a more secretive black market setting, so as not to incur hostility with the unicorns, who they could totally annihilate if it weren't for the black market intriguing abundance of prophecies about their kind that seemed so precious few have ever heard of, let alone heard. How fascinating!   Sadly, several of these prophecy murals that were completed never made it to competition, as the kingdoms in which they dwelt now lay unreachable at the bottom of the Sea of Heavy Sighs, so named by the dragons who still morn for their lost brethren.
