Theron Sylvanranth

The Dragon

“Theron? Hah. He’s what happens when you bleed for a kingdom long enough that the crown forgets you ever bled. Cold as winter steel and twice as sharp. Most men wear masks to hide their weakness—he wears his to hold the rest of us together.” - Sorek Redmarch
Once a great hero, The Dragon was revered across the kingdom of Gorundia for his wisdom, leadership, and unyielding resolve. However, the tragedy at Elderbrook changed everything. Since that fateful day, his demeanor has grown cold and calculating, though his focus remains unwavering: the benefit of Gorundia and the ultimate restoration of the elvish kingdoms.

A Shattered Heart

"She used to hum when she walked past my study. I didn’t realize I missed the sound until the silence started to echo."
The recent murder of his beloved daughter Elyndra Sylvanranth at the hands of the snake cult has been devastating. Elyndra was his light, his hope, and the embodiment of everything he fought to preserve. Her loss has cast a shadow over his every decision, leaving him more isolated than ever. His son, Naiyra, continues to disappoint, unable—or unwilling—to rise to the expectations placed upon him.

New Revelations

Amidst the turmoil, events have taken an unexpected turn. Blue Sylvanranth, whom he calls Luinë, has been revealed as his daughter. The revelation that her mother is still alive has added another layer of complexity to his life. Additionally, his estranged daughter, Dana Freeblade, has resurfaced. However, it would be a stretch to say she has become a part of his life again. The scars of their separation run deep, and reconciliation seems distant.

Marvelous

Marvelous has fallen into his life once more, a halfblood woman who makes his heart stir and drives him to great excess. She lives in the moment, unbound by plans or the need to control outcomes—qualities that once drew him to her and now unsettle him deeply.   They loved each other dearly once, a passion that burned fiercely but ended in embers when his need for control clashed with her free-spirited nature. Even now, she is a force of chaos and vitality in his calculated world, reminding him of a part of himself he thought long buried. Yet, he cannot help but fear her influence, knowing all too well that she represents both his greatest joy and his greatest risk.
“You remind him of everything he could’ve done right… if he’d been a better man. That’s why he stares, and why he struggles to say the words you want to hear. He’s not cold to you, Blue. He’s afraid you’ll forgive him.” - Sorek Redmarch

A Long View

"Yes, I'm aware of that law. I wrote it. Two centuries ago. When your great-grandfather was still asking permission to wear his father’s sword indoors."
Born in 658, The Dragon has witnessed centuries of conflict and change. His long view of the world shapes every decision he makes, always with an eye toward the greater good, no matter the cost. He respects strength but does not rely on it, valuing intelligence and strategy above brute force. His ability to read people and place them where they will be most effective has made him both revered and feared.
"He respects brawn—don’t get me wrong—but he doesn’t rely on it. That’s what separates him from so many others. He knows brute force has its place, but it’s your mind, your instincts, that make you valuable to him. That’s why he picked me, not because I could swing a sword, but because I knew when to swing it."
- Sorek Redmarch

Legacy and Loss

For all his strategic brilliance and stoic exterior, the losses he has endured have taken their toll. Elyndra’s death has left a wound that may never heal. The connection of Luinë (Blue Sylvanranth) and Dana Freebladeoffers a sliver of hope, but it is tempered by the uncertainty of what role they will play in his life—and in his grand plans.   Marvelous, however, presents a challenge he is ill-equipped to face. Her presence pulls him from his calculated schemes and forces him to confront emotions he’d rather ignore. She is both a temptation and a test, reminding him that not everything in life can be controlled.

The Bigger Picture

"The truth rarely wins debates. But it does endure. Unlike those who mistake popularity for power."
Though The Dragon’s methods can be ruthless, they are always in service of his ultimate goals: safeguarding Gorundia and restoring the glory of the elvish kingdoms. Whether his cold calculations will be enough to achieve these lofty ambitions—or whether his personal grief and passions will consume him—remains to be seen.

History

It has only just been revealed by Ouro Ohotnik that Blue is Sylvanranths child. The removal of the control drone has rattled her, and left her vulnerable. To protect her, Theron sent her away to the capital with Sir Sorek as a mentor.   She has gone from a friendly barmaid in a run-down halfblood bar to a position of wealth with the finest tutors in the land.

Luinë - Elvish implying a deep blue. Sorek tries hard not to roll his eyes at the 'deep' part.

On Baron Orin Kharne

“Orin is a mountain in mail—steadfast and unyielding. He’s got the heart of a knight, but sometimes it feels like he missed the class on subtlety.”

On Braga the Brazen

“Braga moves like a storm with boots—fierce, unrelenting, and always leaving something broken in her wake. Trustworthy in battle, terrifying at breakfast.”

On Sorek Redmarch

“Sorek’s the kind of man you’d follow into a dragon’s lair—sharp tongue, sharper blade. He keeps you honest, even if you don’t want him to.”

On Alastair Amadis

“Alistair’s politeness is a dagger in velvet—pleasing to the face, lethal to the ambition. Court without him is like a forest without shadows.”

On Lyosha

“Lyosha’s faith is his fortress and his chain. He prays with conviction, but I wonder if faith alone can shield a man from his past.”

On Dame Venom

“Venom is calm as moonlight but just as cold. In silence she’s gathering strength—and when she strikes, mercy isn’t in her vocabulary.”

On Ponzio Bordella

“Ponzio hunts prestige like a beast in season—relentless, proud, and always aiming for that one perfect shot. Remember: his ego is bigger than his bow.”

On Thranduil the Grugach

“Thranduil is shadow made arrow—silent, inevitable, and always finding its mark. Cross him once and you’ll spend your life hearing the twang of regret.”

On Cornelia Bordella

“Cornelia flutters through life with her head in a romance novel—sweet, hopeful, utterly impractical. I have little use for daydreamers in a world that demands steel.”

On Bertram Moffet

“Bertram’s blind devotion cost him two eyes in duels and yet he presses on as though vision were merely optional and healers followed in every man's wake. Admirable stubbornness—if only it served a wiser cause.”

On Guaco

“That little halfling cleaned out my wine cellar. I admire his nerve…just as much as I’ll admire the look on his face when I return the favor in kind.”

On Sir Beringer

“Beringer is the sort of rock you lean on in a storm—unbreakable, dependable, and about as witty as the boulder.”

On Dana Freeblade

“Dana chose chaos over kin and paid the price. I disowned her the moment she traded loyalty for reckless freedom.”

On Naiyra

“Naiyra’s selfishness was a liability. Letting him go was mercy—no father need bear the burden of such weakness.”

On Blue Sylvanranth

“Blue’s vibrant spirit is the ember I fight to keep alive—her laughter reminds me of all I’ve sworn to protect, and in her eyes I see her mother’s courage shining through.”

On Wilhelm Vogel

“He bears the Vogel name like a gilded shroud—scion of grandeur, yet his legacy is written in the bleak cautionary tales whispered in empty halls. No amount of courtly grace can mask the ruin he’s destined to inherit.”
