Sarielle Redmarch

Sarielle Redmarch

“Sarielle has the kind of smile that makes men forget their wine, and the kind of heart that’ll get bruised long before she learns what court really is. But damn if she doesn’t light up a ballroom like a chandelier in a thunderstorm.” – Sorek Redmarch
Recent Updates: • Appointed as First Lady-in-Waiting to Braga the Brazen, Baroness of the West. • Now residing part-time at Fort Stormarrow and regularly seen at official functions in her new capacity. • Beginning to navigate frontier nobility, learning from Braga’s unorthodox leadership and gaining firsthand exposure to military and regional governance.   Age: 17 House: Redmarch Status: Unmarried, in her first court season Residence: Court of Gorundia / Fort Stormarrow   Overview: Sarielle Redmarch is the only daughter of the ever-sardonic court chronicler Sorek Redmarch, and she is a vision of youth, charm, and hopeful naivety. A favorite in courtly circles, she is graceful, well-mannered, and effortlessly lovely—one of those rare young women who still believes in noble tales, dashing heroes, and love that lingers in glances across a crowded hall.   She was recently named the First Lady-in-Waiting to Baroness Braga the Brazen, a position that surprised many within court society, given Braga’s famously coarse, martial nature. The appointment is considered both an honor and a test. Sarielle’s new responsibilities place her at the heart of frontier nobility, where diplomacy must wear armor and etiquette may come with bruises.
“You don’t understand, Father. They’ve fought monsters. Real ones. That’s so much more noble than dancing in polished shoes.” – Sarielle Redmarch
Appearance: Sarielle is striking in the soft way that court poets adore—long auburn curls, wide hazel eyes flecked with gold, and a gentle smile that draws attention without demanding it. She dresses with a romantic flair—lace sleeves, flowing gowns, and ribbons to match her mood. There’s always a flower somewhere in her attire, whether braided into her hair or tucked into her sash.
“She looks like springtime got invited to a dinner party and didn’t realize it wasn’t supposed to bring wine.” – Sorek Redmarch
Personality and Interests: Though raised among sharp minds and sharper tongues, Sarielle has not yet hardened herself to cynicism. She is warm, trusting, and idealistic—still believing in love stories, heroic virtue, and whispered promises under moonlight. She’s intelligent, but not yet wise; articulate, but still easily charmed.   She enjoys:
  • Dancing and music (she plays the lute and sings softly at informal gatherings)
  • Reading romance tales and old chivalric epics
  • Socializing with ladies of the court and gathering gossip (more for fun than leverage)
  • Watching knights spar from a distance, blushing when one catches her gaze
She is especially excited at the prospect of working alongside Braga and encountering the legendary Heroes of Bard’s Gate, whose reputations she has long admired.   Romantic Disposition: Sarielle is a romantic to the core. She speaks often of love at first sight, of noble courtship, and of secret letters sealed in wax and delivered by doves. This makes her charming to many—and a little vulnerable to the more calculating players at court. Her father worries she’ll fall for a rogue with polished boots and borrowed poetry.
“She wants a man who fights for love and speaks in verse. The gods help me if she ends up with some fool who thinks a broadsword is a personality.” – Sorek Redmarch
Current Suitors: Though still early in her season, Sarielle already has several admirers:
  • Lord Camreth Vale – A mild-mannered minor noble with good manners and a weak chin. He recites poetry and gives her roses but lacks passion. Sarielle finds him "very sweet, like a pastry left out too long."
  • Ser Ardan Pellorain – A newly knighted young man who is handsome and quiet, watching her from a distance but stumbling over his words. She finds his awkwardness endearing and his reserve “tragically noble.”
  • Tomas Illenbrooke – A merchant knight’s son, bold and brash, wealthy enough to fake grace. She likes him less than he thinks she does.
  • (Whispers Only) One of the Heroes of Bard’s Gate? – She often asks her father if he can “casually” introduce her to any of them, particularly Sir Orin Kharne, Beringer, or Bertram Moffet.
Relationship with Her Father: Despite his dry cynicism, Sorek Redmarch dotes on his daughter in his own gruff way. He worries for her innocence in a court full of sharks, but he admires her warmth and spirit. He often comments on her escapades with sarcasm—but never mockery.
“She says she wants a knight with a pure heart and a silver tongue. I told her those are sold in pairs—at the puppet market.” – Sorek Redmarch
  Story Hooks:
  • Sarielle’s new role with Braga opens doors into the political machinations of the frontier—especially if she proves more capable than her flower-and-flute image implies.
  • Her idealism may be tested through heartbreak, betrayal, or the harsh lessons of battlefield diplomacy.
  • She may prove an unexpected diplomatic ally or even political fixer for Braga, as her standing among court ladies and The Council grows.
  • If wounded by the world, she may become something new—one of the kingdom’s most influential noblewomen, forged from youthful dreams and tempered by reality.

“I just want a story worth remembering. Isn’t that what we all want?” – Sarielle Redmarch
