HeChay-Zune

HeChay-Zune (normally just called HeChay) is a tall and imposing mercenary. She is obviously not human, at least not completely. From a distance, it appears as if she has long, glossy-black hair growing only on the top of her head, but a closer examination shows that it is unlike any "normal" person's hair. It can be compared to seaweed made of obsidian glass or micro thin strips of blackened metal that twists and turns like old reel-to-reel tape. If this wasn't striking enough, her face is covered in scars, both thin, thick, healed, and fresh. HeChay stands some 6'3 to 6'4 with the shoulders and arms of a swimmer or gymnast. He motions are crisp, smooth, and full of danger.

Personal history

HeChay-Zune is the last surviving member of a small unnamed mercenary group that operated out of the areas down to the south along the old I-75 corridor into what was south Ohio and northern Kentucky. All were Changed that expressed gifts uniquely suited for combat. The group was sufficiently competent and non-human enough to have gained a certain level of acceptance with the eastern group of Spartans at Falling Star Essence , though not so much that they were considered equals or even peers.   Over time, the group began to dwindle. From seven members they became five, then four, then two. Finally, it was only HeChay. A year ago, she found herself in Carcoat, a trading settlement near the site of Old Dayton, drinking alone in an establishment. Unknown to her, a group had tracked her to Carcoat, led by one Harold Epstein. Three of that gang's former leaders had been killed by HeChay and her mercenary group 8 months prior. Epstein had enough clout to take over the gang, but not enough strength to ensure he kept it. His plan was to take revenge on those that had almost destroyed the group. His plan was actually quite smart, knowing who he was going up against. Harold knew that he (or really any normal man) didn't really stand a chance against HeChay in single combat, even if he used a gun against her signature long knives. So he arranged riflemen in hidden elevated spots in view of the bar entrance a called out to HeChay. Slightly drunk and not wanting to be disturbed, HeChay staggered out to quickly remove the bother that had interrupted her bottle time. Harold issued his challenge for all to hear. Gunshots rang out, both from Harold's pistol and from the area around. At first, Harold and his gang thought the plan was going fine as HeChay moved with her unnatural speed her and there. But as her knives cut through his shoulders, he found out he was dead wrong.   Unknown to both parties involved in the fight, Gorn had a premonition about a great asset that would be theirs if they appeared in Carcoat on a specific day and time. He and the rest of the Z Gang soon found out about the plot and the target. On the day of, the Z Gang stationed their own hitters that took out Epstein's gunmen just as the fight began. As Epstein fell and the rest of his group scattered, Eligh Zircane came out clapping from an alleyway, announced who they were and that they had a paying job offer, and the rest has been history.
