Guardian Chariot
The Guardian Chariot is the common name given to a series of pre-Union Artificer vehicles made for a military unit from the city-state of Toledo starting in late 70s PE. The Unit, the Toledo Guardians, were a combination of shock cavalry and scouts that used their Chariots for quick movement, information gathering, and fast assault runs. The Chariots were a mixture of old Earth That Was motorcycle and automobile parts, Artificer engines, fabricated articulated wings, and linkages. The controls were primarily cable-driven with the Artificer engine providing the multi-directional thrust that allowed the Chariot to hover up to about 10-12 ft. depending on the surface underneath them and reach speeds in excess of 80mph straight out. The one downfall of the Chariots, though, was that they did not make use of any form of armor plating - this was tried but it greatly affected the performance of the vehicle to the point that the Guardians chose to forgo them. Forty to fifty of the Chariots were made between the 70s and the conclusion of the Mid-Ohio Resource War in PE 88 that lead to the eventual truce on the use of Artificer weaponry and the creation of the Union itself. None of the Chariots are known to exist in 127 PE.
