Pineglen
Located at the northwestern edge of the Kingdom of Breaton in the foothills of the Farscape Peaks and bordered by the Trevloss Glade is the city of Pineglen.
Famed for its deep mines and lumberyards the city has prospered in recent centuries and is now only eclipsed by Stockcross in population and economy.
Government
Pineglen is ruled by a Minister from Stockcross. Due to its importance as the second largest city in the kingdom the Minister here is well respected and often a relative or close personal friend of the ruling monarch.
Defences
Because of its industrial output and importance to the Kingdom a defensive wall was constructed in 982 and several more added as the city expanded. The outer walls now rise over 60ft and are wide enough for a horse and cart to pass along the top. These walls are lined with crenellations to provide cover and most have a wooden roof to shelter guards from heavy rains.
A seires of towers and gates also dot the walls with some armed with catapaults and ballista to counter anyone daring enough to attempt a siege.
Industry & Trade
Being responsible for the production of vital resources the city is always working even on holidays. The people who live here are hardworking and diligent in all aspects of their lives.
The south of the city is filled with taverns and warehouses to accommodate the numerous trade caravans that flow in and out at all times of the day.
Infrastructure
Being an industrial hub the town has dozens of workshops and factories to produce all kinds of goods. The mines here produce 80% of the Kingdoms ores and minerals with the iron and subsequent steel being regarded as some of the best in Beru.
The cities winding streets and overhanging roofs give it a claustraphobic feel especially in rain or snow.
Towards the south of the city you can find numerous warehouses that hold goods before they are loaded into trade caravans to be sold elsewhere.
