Dividing The Gap and the Trevloss Glade and flanked on the eastern side by The Sapphire Run Fartros was once regarded as a "wild settlement" but over the centuries has grown into a powerful independant city.
Known for the stunning landscapes that surround it, Fartros is a cultural hub filled with all kinds of artists and musicians.
Demographics
Its proximity to the Trevloss Glade means that there is a large population of Wood Elves within the city, however they are not alone. Fartros is considered one of the most diverse settlements in Beru. The people here are hardworking and free spirited, the wealthy reside in luxurious homes while the less fortunate are taken care of by the city, though many choose an ascetic lifestyle.
Government
Ruled as a Republic with an elected body of seven the cities laws, while strictly enforced, are liberal.
Defences
Fartros's wealth is not in coin or resources but its people and culture. There is a perimeter of towers and small trenches to dissuade attacks from roaming bandits or wild predators seeking an easy meal from the farms.
Industry & Trade
Most people who live in Fartros are involved in artistry, from musicians to painters, sculptors to dancers. Merchants sell their works to visiting nobels and soldiers buy warhorses from stables. The markets are filled with interesting pieces and imported goods from the Mirage Alliance.
Infrastructure
The city is filled with public houses and galleries that exhibit the unparalleled art in all its forms. There are few metallurgist in the city and it relies on traded goods from other settlements, particularly Villambard and Rooknest.
The city is famed for its liveries and livestock farms. The horses raised here are the best in Beru and prized by armies for their strength and fearlessness.
Districts
The south-west edge of the city is where the numerous stables can be found and is known locally as 'The Barn'. The air here is filled with animal cries and the scent of the same beasts.
The heart of the city is filled with homes and businesses of all kinds, many share a single building combining both. The streets are often filled with decorations for small festivals and parties and they truley come to life for major holidays. Performing artists fill the air with music and poetry, the smell of freshly baked foods dance on the gentle breezes.
Guilds and Factions
The Modumo Academy holds a significant power in the city, with its Lead Conductor having a inherited seat on the elected council.
The Stablemaster, while not representing a single guild, has the ear of all animal herdsmen in the city.
