Amberclasps

Some of the oldest residents of Beru that roam the wilds and settle in places of great beauty or natural power.

Structure

The Amberclasps is the name given to a collection of druids and worshippers of ancient primal forces within Beru. There is no official hierarchy as the Amberclaps do not see themselves as an organisation or group. On rare occasions when grand councils meet in foreign lands to discuss matters that might affect the Amberclasps an elected representative is sent, typically from the settlement of Ebonvale.

Culture

Placing care of nature and the natural order above all things often causes tension between the Amberclasps and other civilisations who seek to exploit Beru for its resources and riches. Followers of the druidic ways honour nature and all its aspects, hunters who kill animals leave no part unused, farmers ensure their soil is well maintained, sculptors pray over their stone before carving it.

History

The name Amberclasps was originally coined in the city of Villambard long before the arrival of Lord Caster Dale when a group of Druid's were captured in the foothills of Mount Varaam stealing amber crystals from the caves around the volcano by miners. When brought to Villambard the officials named these robbers Amberclasps, which in turn would become the name for many Druid circles across the land.    These druids and their decendents would become enslaved by the Mirage Alliance for centuries working to grow gardens i the harsh desert, craft grand monuments from seamless stone & form springs for travelling merchants crossing the vast sands. Only when Druids from outside the clutches of the Alliance drove off a young red dragon from the bowels of Mount Varaam, opening new mining tunnels and abandoning his horde in the process, did the Alliance release the Amberclasps from bondage. Rumours say that this came at a great cost to the Druids.   The now free Druids would travel the lands in search of places of great primal power founding hundreds of small circles across Beru. The most notable town and largest in the present day belonging to the Amberclasps is Ebonvale founded where the four primal elements converge.
