Spectral Order

The Spectral order is an order of spies and assassins. Information and death is their trade, and they are good at it. They are known by their masks. Every member of the spectral order wears a mask, rumored to depict rank, and a silver ring styled like a serpent coiled around a skull with a dagger through it. Though there have been a few 'pretenders' none have lived long, a firm discouragement of mimicry.

Everything that is known about the Spectral Order leans toward conjecture, rumor, and hearsay. They are, after all, an organization whose trade only flourishes in shadow and anonymity.

The Spectral Council

It is said that the Spectral Order is lead by the Spectral Council, though the identity of its members is as much a mystery as the order itself. If stories and rumors can be believed, they are an eclectic group that comes from all walks of life, the highborn as well as from the common peasantry.

Membership

The exact method of entrance into the order isn't something you can exactly apply for. Without a doubt, it requires someone of notable skill at what they do, be it collecting information, or assassination. It is suspected that the Spectral Order approaches those with such skill, making an offer to admittance. It is generally believed that entrance into the order is completely voluntary, but it is for life. The tenants of the order, the way they operate, and their level of organization remains unknown.
