Clangspire

Gnomes would never be so pompous as to consider themselves a nation, or a kingdom, but they are gnomes, and they do have an ever-growing city that is deceptively large. Deceptively, because nearly the entire city complex runs underneath the entirety of the Steamshroud Mountains, with various satellite sections - some would call them towns or villages - connected by some kind of thing they call a railway.

Clangspire, Version ???

No outsider ever knows "Clangspire's" true name. Not because they are trying to keep it a secret, but because they are always changing it. You see, it began with the first gnome king, or at least they think he was a King, or maybe he was just a really smart gnome that just told everyone else what to do…anyhow, it began with Jangleracket, who directed the completion of Clangspire version 1.0. That is what he named it, at least. Then he realized he made a few mistakes, and so he immediately set his fellow gnomes to work once again after having had a great brainstorming session. Two years later, Clangspire version 1.1 was born.

Unfortunately, that was when he realized that it still lacked something, so once again he returned to the proverbial drawing board. So the process began, with each version of Clangspire becoming greater than the last. Now, Clangspire seems to have a name change to a new version number every year or so. While everyone knows it colloquially as "Clangspire," most have given up trying to keep track of what version number they are currently on, nor do they care about what improvements were made over the old city.
