Devil's Forge

A horned figure stands before a blazing forge. Her onyx-dark skin is cast with dancing oranges and reds. She holds still, her tail flicking back and forth in uneven rhythm. She is nearly a shadow against the light, in the dark room, though against the wall her true shadow holds an ominous appearance, her sixteen horns appearing like javelins.   She flicks her tail back, taking a few steps to her right. She positions her tools, taking hold of blackened tongs. She reaches into the fire, a small clank being barely heard through the inferno. She draws forth a white-hot sword blank, and turns away, taking hold of a hammer as she moves to an anvil.   Sparks glitter in her silver eyes as she begins to hammer it, shaping a new weapon from the glowing blank.

Purpose / Function

This dimensional chamber serves as the metalworking workshop for the Patron of Metallurgy, Rewer. It contains a primary forge as the main workstation, but has a variety of other functions. Rewer creates armor, weapons, and tools within the workshop.

Sensory & Appearance

The room smells of metal, fire, and brimstone. When Rewer is hafting a weapon or creating a grip, it has the aroma of fresh wood, lacquer, and leather. The lighting is provided by numerous mage-lights that float by the walls and ceiling, snuffed out or re-summoned by Rewer as she pleases. Often times the lights are all extinguished, leaving the room bathed only in red and orange from the forge.   There is always the sound of fire, be it faint or furious, and when Rewer works the room echoes with the sounds of her tools. It is never smokey or hazy, despite the fire.

Denizens

The workshop is used exclusively by Rewer, Patron Deity of Metallurgy. She spends most of her time here.

Contents & Furnishings

The room is dominated by the forge of its namesake. This is located two-thirds of the way in to the room, central to the other walls. To the sides are an anvil, quenching trough, and various other equipment.   There is a wide array of tools in the room, each of which was forged by Rewer herself. Throughout, there are wooden and stone shelves and tables (the former of her construction and the latter devil-made) that hold some of these tools. Also among these fixtures can be found lacquers and arcane materials. There are three chairs in the room, none of which have a backrest, each at a table.

Valuables

Every weapon and armor piece in this room are of immeasurable value. Each is mere steps away from being a divine artifact, needing only to be taken in the hands of a deity and imbued with power.

Special Properties

The forge here is connected to a pit of hellfire, hotter than any other known to devil and divine alike. It is superseded only by Ensear's flames, and only then when she is exerting her full power.

Alterations

As Rewer has modified the structure, she has added shelves, tool boards, drawers, additional tables and chairs, and built upon a few of the furnishings (including the forge itself) to suit her height. She has also redecorated to her liking.

Architecture

Initially constructed by Devils in Fyen, the room is made of dark stone. The floor has been smoothed but remains colored with the strata it was carved from. The walls are sturdy stone, with the rear half being a natural alcove once embedded in a hill. The front is made of the same stone, though composed of brickwork. The ceiling is higher in the front for this reason. Overall, the architecture is simple and utilitarian. Rewer has adorned the walls with metal-plate designs, weaponry, and decorations.

History

Formerly a pit located in the second layer of hell, Fyen, the raw fire that brewed forth from it was harnessed to fuel an exceptionally hot forge capable of melting metals that had once been. In her invasion of the second layer, Ensear came across the forge and ordered it to be ripped from the plane into a pocket dimension where she wished to study it.
Type
Craftsman, Blacksmith / Smithy
Environmental Effects
Were a mortal being to step foot in this room, they would be smothered by the heat alone. When Rewer is operating it at full heat, it would burn them alive.
