Axen's Eye

When the god Axen found out that the The First Light Light had given Casper his last quarter of soul so that Casper might have a partner, Axen demanded something of equal value from the First Light as well. But the First Light was no more, and persisted only as the scant and faroff sun.

Axen was furious. In his fury, he tore out his own eye and cracked it open like an egg, giving birth to the god Malevex - a figure carrying the very essence of his fury - and setting him free across the realms in a petty vengeance against the First Light.

Axen's Eye is a theoretical, and theological, symbol of divine hubris and selfishness in general, but particularly signifies Axen's fury over the First Light's unfairness between his two sons.

Orc and Orvon Cultures
Thought to originate even long before the Jzarmillan Wars of Liberation, Axen's Eye is considered an almost guiding force, watching over the orc and orvon races when the rest of the gods have somewhat neglected them for their inherent association to Axen. It is utilized as a symbol on the cover of the Vladican Doctrine, and is often carved into doorposts as a symbolic 'keeping one's fury and cares safe at the threshold'. Anger in many of these cultures is not seen as something necessarily bad - instead, it's a necessary part of one's soul to help carry them through the harsher aspects of life and should be nurtured, and handled deliberately.
Eye or Ire
'Axen's Eye' is a common interjection across Jzarmillan, and has carried to other parts of the globe as well. There is some debate, however, on whether the original phrase was 'Axen's Eye' versus 'Axen's Ire', as both phrases are common in certain areas. The Vladican lands typically use 'Axen's Eye' whereas 'Axen's Ire' is heard more around the Attalux/Aveaan borderline.

In some areas, such as the northwestern border of the continent, the accent is so strong that it's difficult to decipher which phrase individuals might be using. In Port Jzakaar, which has developed its own amalgamated accent and hosts travelers and residents from all over the continent, there's basically no distinction between the two phrases.
Some pyramisic cults believe that the cracked eye may be hidden on the globe in the same manner that other religious artifacts are thought to be, and there are even others who believe that the eye is a divine item of the Seraphic Armory. There's little consensus on what the eye actually looks like, which might make it difficult to ever find the eye, but there are a few agreed-upon details. These include the idea that the eye, in its present form, is either fully cracked in half or has a thick cracked ring around it from when it was cracked, as well as there being an arcanic fluid inside which served as the albumen of the eye.
